Introduction Disability is one of the factors that can lead to social exclusion and poverty of individuals with hearing and speech impairment. This is due to the fact that individuals with disabilities are often underestimated, in terms of their work and social skills. The employment of people with disabilities represents a powerful mechanism for achieving full participation of the marginalized groups in all spheres of society. Methods The study included a total of 40 people with hearing and speech disabilities, out of which 16 individuals were employed at DES d.o.o. Sarajevo and 24 at SINKRO d.o.o. Sarajevo. A combination of three questionnaires was used for assessing daily activities and their impact on the quality of life (QoL) of the individuals with hearing and speech disabilities. Results In the total sample, there were 35% males and 65% females. Complete deafness was observed in the majority of participants (90%), while the rest had either moderate (7.5%) or mild (2.5%) hearing impairment. A higher number of participants used sign language as the means of communication, compared to manual alphabet. About 17.5% of the participants used a cochlear implant or a hearing aid. Most of the individuals lived with a spouse (70%), 20% lived with their parents, 7.5% lived independently, and 2.5% lived with a guardian. The majority of the participants who were married had a child (57.5%). The average Ferrans and Powers' Quality of Life Index (QLI) was 19.33, and the average value for total daily activities was 11.700 MET. The average value for the level of physical activity in males was M = 13716.5 and in females M = 10613.56 (p > 0.05). Conclusions Overall, we showed that daily activities have a positive effect on the QoL of working individuals with hearing and speech disabilities, i.e., the individuals who had a higher level of physical activity also had a higher QoL.

There has been a number of reports of natural products contaminated with illegal adulterants that threaten consumer health because of their adverse pharmacological effects worldwide. In this study, a multi-residual ultra-performance liquid chromatography method with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-QTOF-MS) was applied for the identification of sildenafil added into a herbal honey mixture used as an immune system booster. Electrospray ionization (ESI) source was applied and operated in the positive ion mode. The mobile phase consisted of 0.1% formic acid aqueous solution/acetonitrile (70:30, v/v) using the isocratic gradient elution system at a detection wavelength of 290 nm. The compound of sildenafil added into traditional herbal mixed honey was identified according to the spectrum, chromatographic behavior, and mass spectral data were identified by comparison with the reference substance. The method is selective, sensitive and can be used to detect the sildenafil illegally added into traditional herbal medicinal preparations.

The effects of defatted hemp cake added to corn grits (in ratios of 0, 5 and 10% d.m.), the moisture content of the mixtures (15, 20, 25%) and the temperature in the extruder ejection zone (150, 165, 180 °C) on the physical properties of extruded products have been investigated. Statistical optimization of investigated extrusion conditions using the response surface methodology was performed. The hemp cake was completely defatted by means of a supercritical CO2 extraction. The extrusion was performed on a laboratory single screw extruder and regulated by the following parameters: temperature in the dosing and compression zone (120 and 150 °C), screw compression ratio (4:1), round die (4 mm). The change of extrusion process conditions has significantly affected the physical properties of produced snacks. The expansion ratio ranged between 1.38 and 3.11, the bulk density between 0.14 and 0.49 g/cm3, the hardness between 18.15 and 70.62 N, the fracturability between 3.65 and 10.38 mm, and the total color change between 3.25 and 24.73.

Abstract.The two reactions $\gamma p\rightarrow K^{+}\Lambda$γp→K+Λ and $\pi^{-} p\rightarrow K^{0}\Lambda$π-p→K0Λ are analyzed to determine the leading photoproduction multipoles and the pion-induced partial wave amplitudes in slices of the invariant mass. The multipoles and the partial-wave amplitudes are simultaneously fitted in a multichannel Laurent+Pietarinen model (L+P model), which determines the poles in the complex energy plane on the second Riemann sheet close to the physical axes. The results from the L+P fit are compared with the results of an energy-dependent fit based on the Bonn-Gatchina (BnGa) approach. The study confirms the existence of several poles due to nucleon resonances in the region at about 1.9 GeV with quantum numbers $J^{P} = 1/2^{+}, 3/2^{+}, 1/2^{-}, 3/2^{-}, 5/2^{-}$JP=1/2+,3/2+,1/2-,3/2-,5/2-.

This chapter deals with the influence of the electric field on a Medium Voltage Indoor Post Insulator (MVIPI) with standard and modified external shapes . The goal of this chapter is to show the electric field behavior of the MVIPI with different external shapes and to introduce a numerical model with a favorable distribution of the electric field that relieves the dielectric from stress. The chapter describes an MVIPI with nominal voltage 20 kV AC and shows an existing MVIPI, an MVIPI with a different number of ribs, and an MVIPI with exceptional external shape. The MVIPI’s new external shape does not have the typical shape of the ribs, but a new outline, using the Lagrange polynomial, that will acquire its optimal form through the optimization process. A Differential Evolution optimization algorithm is used for the optimal design of the insulator’s external shape. The value of the Electric Field Strength (EFS) will be mini - mized within the permissible bounds during the optimization process. The important parameters during the minimization of the objective function are the value of the EFS in the interior and exterior of the insulator. EFS values are shown for every MVIPI example and are compared with the existing MVIPI. The obtained results are analyzed and discussed.

The paper conducts a survey of satisfaction level of users of two lane road in regards to constructional-geometrical factors influencing unimpeded traffic and influence of human element during its maintenance. Establishing the satisfaction level of users of existing road network is the primary goal of the paper, through the definition of Level of Service of relevance for the analysis of traffic of interurban road network. The survey was conducted on the road section Koprivna – Modrica, regional road R-465 (Busletic - Modrica). Using a questionnaire, the values of influence to the level of users’ satisfaction were established. Traffic infrastructure and elements of horizontal road signs have been identified as two main indicators giving negative grade to the level of satisfaction. The end of paper gives a review of measures for the improvement of existing conditions.

Providing reliable and efficient operation of electronic devices often requires introducing of an additional protection from electric circuit parasitic components during the design stage. The paper analyzes the influence of a parasitic inductance on overvoltage at switching elements, which is an unavoidable part of the most electronic converters. The paper also describes the basic methods for avoiding this phenomenon. One example of an overvoltage protection of IGBT transistors based on TD350 control circuit is presented for a specific converter.

Introducao: O Diabetes Melittus (DM) e uma doenca sistemica metabolica cronica de prevalencia alta na populacao idosa, que pode implicar no agravamento de manifestacoes orais prejudiciais ao paciente. O cirurgiao-dentista tem papel importante no diagnostico e no tratamento dessas manifestacoes, bem como, pode auxiliar no controle do DM. Objetivo: Analisar, por meio de uma revisao da literatura sistematica, a relacao das condicoes de saude bucal com o DM. Metodos: Foi realizado um levantamento bibliografico nas bases de dados PubMed, LILACS e Scielo, buscando recuperar artigos relacionados ao tema, selecionados entre o periodo de 2005 e 2015. Conclusao: DM e saude bucal possuem uma relacao bidirecional, comprovada pela maior resistencia a insulina na presenca de inflamacao local e pela prevalencia de doenca periodontal e alteracoes em mucosa oral e glândulas salivares no paciente com DM descompensado. Alteracoes no meio bucal dos portadores de tal patologia tambem podem afetar sua funcao mastigatoria, e por conseguinte, a nutricao, impactando negativamente no controle glicemico. Portanto, o atendimento odontologico pode contribuir com a melhoria da condicao de saude bucal e sistemica alem da qualidade de vida dos idosos com DM.

Black chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa Elliot) is a deciduous fruit shrub from Rosaceae family that does not have a long cultivating tradition in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, the aim of this research was to determine the effect of variety, quantity and combination of fertilizers on characteristics of vegetative growth, yield and fruit quality of black chokeberry of Nero cultivar, in agro - ecological conditions of the Una – Sana Canton (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The experimental site fertilized with the combination of mineral and organic nitrate fertilizers gave the best results in morphometric characteristics of fruit, yield and vegetative characteristics of growth. Fruits from the control site had the highest values when it comes to the most of the following characteristics: dry matter content, ash, total acidity, vitamin C and total phenolic content. Statistical analyses showed that factors of quantity and the manner of fertilization influence significantly most of examined parameters in this research (P ≤ 0.05).
