In this study, novel hexa coordinated ruthenium(III) complex of the type Na[RuCl2L2)] (where L = monobasic bidentate Schiff base derived from the condensation of 5-nitrosalicyladehyde with aniline) has been synthesized and characterized by electrospray ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry, infrared spectroscopy and ultraviolet/visible spectrophotometry. Schiff base N-phenyl-5-nitrosalicylideneimine is coordinated to the ruthenium via imine nitrogen and phenolic oxygen. Mass spectra showed molecular ion (M-) at m/z 653.9641 which corresponds to [C26H18Cl2N4O6Ru]. The in vitro antimicrobial properties of the Schiff base and the complex were tested by micro-dilution technique and agar plate assay for determination of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC). The compounds showed a higher antibacterial activity against tested Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 33591 and ATCC 29213), whereas against the Gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 700603) were ineffective. The genotoxic effects of Ru(III) complex were investigated using the Cytokinesis Block Micronucleus (CBMN) assay in human lymphocytes cultures. The cell culture treated with the complex at a concentration of 3.7 μg/mL exhibit the most prominent effect of decreasing the frequency of micronucleus for 44%, while at the concentrations of 1.5 and 7.4 μg/mL effect is slightly lower (40%), compared to the control cell culture.
Ni-doped goethite (α-FeOOH) nanorods were synthesized from mixed Fe(III)-Ni(II) nitrate solutions with various Ni/(Ni+Fe) ratios (0, 5, 10, 20, 33 and 50 mol % Ni) by hydrothermal precipitation in a highly alkaline medium using the strong organic alkali, tetramethyl¬ammonium hydroxide (TMAH). Ni-doped hematite (α-Fe2O3) nanorods were obtained by calcination of Ni- doped goethite nanorods at 400 °C. The Ni2+- for-Fe3+ substitution in goethite and hematite was confirmed by determination of the unit cell expansion (due to the difference in the ionic radii of Fe3+ and Ni2+) using XRPD and determination of the reduction of a hyperfine magnetic field (due to the difference in magnetic moments of Fe3+ and Ni2+) using Mossbauer spectroscopy. Single- phase goethite nanorods were found in samples containing 0 or 5 mol % Ni. A higher Ni content in the precipitation system (10 mol % or more) resulted in a higher Ni2+-for-Fe3+ substitution in goethite, and larger Ni-doped goethite nanorods, though with the presence of low crystalline Ni-containing ferrihydrite and Ni ferrite (NiFe2O4) as additional phases. Significant changes in FT-IR and UV-Vis-NIR spectra of prepared samples were observed with increasing Ni content. Electrochemical measurements of samples showed a strong increase in oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalytic activity with increasing Ni content.
The main aim of this paper was to describe the activity of the artisan cheese dairy and agri-tourism on the example of the farm “Wańczykówka”, which is located in the village of Krzeszów in the south Lower Silesia. The original source of information was used in the study, which was obtained by direct interview with the owner of the analyzed object. The farm is located in attractive tourist areas and has a good chance of developing non-agricultural activities as an additional source of income. The paper presents the motives for starting a business and characteristics of the farm profile. In addition, it was discussed the sourcing of raw materials and characterized the product variety, as well as the offer of agri-tourism services. The described artisan cheese dairy combined with agri-tourism is an excellent example of pursuing an interesting form of entrepreneurship in the countryside as well as promoting of local quality food. #0#
W referacie zaprezentowano empiryczny model do szacowania tlumienia systemowego dla radiowych sieci BAN pracujących w środowisku promu pasazerskiego przy czestotliwości 2,45 GHz dla komunikacji typu off-body. Badania pomiarowe przeprowadzono dla scenariuszy dynamicznych w pomieszczeniu dyskoteki promu pasazerskiego. Postac analityczna modelu sklada sie z trzech skladowych: tlumienia średniego, tlumienia wynikającego ze zmiennej pozycji anteny na ciele czlowieka oraz tlumienia wynikającego z wystepowania zanikow sygnalu radiowego.
Resistance spot welding (RSW) is considered as the dominant process for joining similar and dissimilar sheet metals in automotive industry. In this paper will be present the strength analyses of spot weld joint and analyse the transition between interfacial and pull-out failure modes for resistance spot weld joints of aluminium and austenitic stainless steel sheet, during the tensile–shear test, by usage analytical and experimental approach.
