The objective of this study was to profile trauma related psychiatric symptoms in a group of refugees not seeking mental health services and to consider the services implications. The study involved research assessments of two groups of Bosnian refugees: those who have not presented for mental health services and those who have. A total of 28 of 41 nonpresenters (70%) met symptom criteria for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) diagnosis. All service presenters (N = 29) met symptom criteria for PTSD diagnosis. The group that did not present for services reported substantial but lower trauma exposure, PTSD symptom severity, and depression symptom severity. They had significant differences on all subscales of the MOS SF-36, indicating better health status. We concluded that those who do not seek services have substantial symptom levels, but their self-concept appears to be less oriented toward illness and help seeking. Innovative access, engagement, and preventive interventions are needed to address those who have symptoms but do not readily seek help for trauma mental health services.

About 10 years ago in the US, an automotive OEM consortium formed the Oxygenated Fuels Task Force which in turn created the SAE Cooperative Research Project Group 2 to develop a simple rational method for qualifying materials. At that time the focus was Methanol/ Gasoline blends. This work resulted in SAE J1681, Gasoline/Methanol Mixtures for Materials Testing. Recently this document was rewritten to make it the single, worldwide, generic source for fuel system test fluids. The paper will describe the rationale for selecting the fuel surrogate fluids and why this new SAE standard should replace all existing test fuel or test fluid standards for fuel system materials testing.
The DEAD box protein, p68, is an established RNA-dependent ATPase and RNA helicase in vitro, but neither the physiological function of this protein nor the macromolecules with which it interacts are known. Using a yeast two-hybrid screen, we identified the nucleolar protein, fibrillarin, as a protein that interacts with p68. Coimmunoprecipitation experiments confirmed that p68 and fibrillarin can form complexes in cellular extracts, and deletion analysis identified regions in each protein responsible for mediating the interaction. Immunofluorescence studies using confocal microscopy revealed that, in interphase cells, while fibrillarin is predominantly nucleolar, p68 shows a diffuse granular nuclear staining but is largely excluded from the nucleoli. Strikingly, both proteins colocalize in nascent nucleoli during late telophase. These data are consistent with a role for p68 either in postmitotic nucleolar reassembly or in the activation of ribosomal DNA transcription/preribosomal RNA processing during telophase and suggest that differential subnuclear compartmentalization may be a mechanism by which interaction of p68 with fibrillarin is regulated in the cell.
