Student engagement should be one of the most powerful drivers for improvement of quality teaching in higher education. As students are direct beneficiaries of quality teaching, they are able to provide crucial feedback not only on what works well but also on what they would like to be done differently and how. The paper presents results of research related to students' perception of course Accounting Information Systems (AIS) and way of its implementation at the Faculty of Economic - University of Mostar. At this course lectures include many opportunities for active student engagement through cooperative learning activities (debates, team work, and presentation of project results). The authors developed two questionnaires in order to investigate the students' understanding of AIS course at the beginning and at the end of lectures. At the first class students completed a questionnaire about their expectations from AIS lectures (content, their engagement, learning activities, learning outcomes, assessment) and at the last class they completed another questionnaire about their real experiences related to AIS lectures. Research has been conducted for last two years and it enabled authors to use its results to tailor lectures in accordance with student's expectation and accordingly to improve teaching process. Introduction Crankshaft phenomenon is determined as a loss of three-dimensional correction of the scoliosis curve, which occurs after posterior fusion in children who have not completely finished skeletal growth. Dubousset named this phenomenon when he noticed that the entire spine and torso gradually turn and deform anterior spine, which continues to grow and rake around the axis of the fusion mass. This is mostly seen in infantile and juvenile idiopathic scoliosis, however this also occur in adolescents who are immature at the time of the last fusion. Aim To analyze this phenomenon in adolescents who have not finished skeletal growth and were operated for idiopathic scoliosis. Material and Methods This retrospective–prospective study analyzed 48 randomly selected adolescents operated for idiopathic scoliosis in Clinic for Orthopaedic and Traumatology in Tuzla between 1996 and 2011. Patients operated only with a posterior stabilization and fusion were divided into two groups. One group consisted of adolescents with intensive growth (12 years for girls and 14 years for boys) and another group consisted of adolescents at final stage of skeletal growth (14 years for girls and 16 years for boys). We measured Cobb angle at standard X-rays performed in an upright posture immediately after the surgery and at the latest X-rays done at the end of skeletal growth at the age of 18 years. Results Increasing Cobb angle was noted in 53% of studied patients. In group A higher values of Cobb angle noted in 69.56% examinees and in 36% in group B. When we analyzed both groups Cobb angle increased from preoperative 19.6 degrees to postoperative 22 degrees (2.4 degrees—12.2%) (r = 0.98), In group A preoperative Cobb angle increased from preoperative 20.6% degrees to postoperative 24 degrees (3.4 degrees—16.22%) (r = 0.97), while in group B from 18.60 to 20 degrees (1.4 degrees—7.52%) (r = 0.98). Conclusion Postoperative deformity progression of anterior column in adolescents operated for idiopathic scoliosis could be seen even if the stable fusion achieved. The risk for progression is higher in younger patients.

The pattern reversal visual evoked potential (PR-VEP) is an objective method, stablished for noninvasive functional investigations. This research aimed to obtain data from the PR-VEP with checkerboard in adult domestic cats and the influence of different visual angles on the peak latency and implicit time of waves N75 and P100. It was used 13 adult cats (2-4 years old), of both sexes. Each animal was positioned 100 cm away from a video monitor located at 17.2o. The stimulus generated for the formation of wave VEPs was "square" with the frequency of 6Hz, presented in five spatial frequencies (16 ', 32', 64 ', 130' and 260 'of arc). Mean values of implicit times (ms) and amplitudes (µvolts) of P100 were not statistically different and were not correlated (r=0.067). With the change in size of the angle of stimulus presented, the peak implicit time and amplitude of P100 showed a slight variation. At 32 'of arc amplitude of P100 reached its peak with 14,94±1,13µV (mean±SEM). N75 showed no variation in amplitude. With 16'of arc the implicit time N75 decreased and no correlation with amplitude values was observed (r=0,26). The visual angle that triggered higher peak amplitude and implicit time constant for P100, was 32'of arc. In adult cats, PR-VEP can be obtained without mydriatic and sedatives, with stimuli subtending angles between large as 64' and small as 16 '
