Singing to accompaniment of the gusle is a very important form of vocal-instrumental performance in the musical tradition of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This paper will present historic sources and research on singing to gusle accompaniment, and the methods by which songs are created, transmitted and performed by guslars.
Within health care systems of less developed countries, such as Rep. of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is a lack of directives and guidelines within the area of infectious disease control. This especially applies to primary level institutions which are therefore required to develop and conduct measures of prevention and elimination of intrahospital infections independently.
The building sector is responsible for 40% of the current CO 2 emissions as well as energy consumption. Sustainability and energy efficiency of buildings are currently being evaluated, not only based on thermal insulation qualities and energy demands, but also based on primary energy demand, CO 2 reductions and the ecological properties of the materials used. Therefore, in order to make buildings as sustainable as possible, it is crucial to maximize the use of ecological materials. This study explores alternative usage of sheep wool as a construction material beyond its traditional application in the textile industry. Another goal of this research was to study the feasibility of replacement of commonly used thermal insulations with natural and renewable materials which have better environmental and primary energy values. Building physics, energy and environmental characteristics were evaluated and compared based on hygrothermal simulation and ecological balance methods. The observations demonstrate that sheep wool, compared with mineral wool and calcium silicate, provides comparable thermal insulation characteristics, and in some applications even reveals better performance.
Delamination (fracture) tests have been numerically investigated using various cohesive zone properties. The test utilises asymmetric and symmetric double cantilever beam specimens loaded with bending moment. Energy release rate contributions from mode I and mode II fracture are calculated using a global and local approach. Mode-mixities results are presented and analysed. The numerical partitioning results for different configurations are compared to two analytical partitioning theories, namely, after Williams and after Hutchinson and Suo. Opposite to these theories, partitioning is observed to be dependent on cohesive zone properties.
Garlic was examined in field experiments conducted in central Serbia (Belgrade). Spring garlic was examined. The objective was to examine the effect of plant density on photosynthesis productivity (LAR-Leaf Area Ratio, NAR- Net Assimilation Rate) and the yield of garlic. The analysis involved the following plant densities: 300 (G1), 450 (G2), 600 (G3), 750 (G4) and 900 (G5) thousand plants ha -1 . The garlic exhibited better results in denser crop establishment. It is clearly indicated by the yield of garlic attained in the experiments. Average yield rates range from 5.6 (G1) to 12.5 t ha -1 (G5). The results demonstrate that the garlic should be grown in high density establishment.
