Calculation parameters of power system stabilizer parameters were carried out by numerical procedure which is based on an analysis of the sensitivity of eigenvalues. Mathematical model of synchronous generator is identified using extended Kalman filter, with data recorded on real system.

For most of them, taking part in practical education programs is the first opportunity to perceive the different aspects of work in travel agencies, organisations and hotels. For the first time they are perceiving the positive, as well as negative aspects of this occupation. The aim of this paper is to elaborate the students attitudes towards practical education, as an invigorating factor for a desire to work in tourism, or as a factor that has changed their attitudes about their future career. U radu je predstavljena zamjena dijela sustava turbinske regulacije proizvodnih jedinica A i B HE Cakovec. U uvodu su navedeni bitni razlozi za zamjenu dijela sustava turbinske regulacije. Nakon toga predstavljeni su podsustavi sustava turbinske regulacije: turbinski regulator, upravljanje nizvodnim zatvaracima, mjerenja razina vode i elektrohidraulicki dio sustava turbinske regulacije. Također je predstavljeno mjerenje razina vode s hardverskom strukturom posebno prilagođenom za ova kontinuirana mjerenja. Posebna pozornost posvecena je dodatnoj funkciji turbinskog regulatora za nadzor kvarova u sustavima pozicioniranja privodnog i radnog kola. Dodatno su opisana HIL ispitivanja (Hardware in the Loop testing) sustava turbinske regulacije koja su provedena prilikom tvornickih ispitivanja i navedene njihove prednosti. Opisan je registrator prijelaznih pojava i događaja. Na kraju je dan osvrt na primopredajna ispitivanja, te redoslijed projektiranja i izvođenja radova na HE Cakovec.
Computer-based simulator of water turbine and its environment has been developed for the purpose of turbine governor analysis, design and testing. During the final governor testing in the factory, the finished governor cubicle is linked with the hardware-in-the-loop turbine simulator using the signals which will later link it with the real hydroelectric power unit and other systems at the plant. During the earlier development phases, the governor is implemented as a part of the simulator. Besides helping in the governor design and subsequent improvements, the simulator significantly quickens commissioning of the governor system and thus both improves its quality and reduces costs.
This paper attempts to answer the usually neglected ethical questions of the interaction between tourism workers and participants in tourism movements and users of tourism services in general. Contact with numerous people in the work place, dynamic work with customers, continuous phone calls and stress due to constant responsibility, are just some of the conditions which tourism workers encounter on the daily basis and which sometimes make them ask themselves: Am I really able to do this job? Will their behaviour with each customer be ethical? Will they be able to hide from the customers their stress, nervousness and mental fatigue? Have all the employees in travel agencies attended the training courses in communication with customers, or does everything depend on their own decisions and home upbringing? Is it worth taking risk and putting agency`s reputation at stake? Which moral dilemmas do the tour guides encounter on the journeys? These are just some of the questions which will be put in the spotlight in this paper. The aim of this paper is to indicate the necessity to establish the codes of conduct for all professionals who are in direct contact with tourists.
The paper describes a procedure for identification of single machine infinite bus system. Mathematical model of synchronous generator is identified using data obtained from monitoring system. To determine the model parameters of the synchronous generator, a procedure based on Kalman filter was applied. The identified model of the synchronous generator can be used for parameter setting of the voltage controller and optimal parameter tuning of power system stabilizers.
The application of intelligent controllers such as neural networks and fuzzy controllers in technical systems is increasing. The main reason for this lies in the fact that intelligent controllers do not require knowing the exact mathematical model parameters of the controlled process. On the other hand, a great downside to this type of control is that stability cannot be proved. Technical systems often exhibit nonlinear behaviour which can be described with elementary nonlinear elements such as hysteresis and/or dead zones. This paper presents the use of the describing function as a means of analysis of systems with neural networks and dominant nonlinearities. The equivalent describing function can then be used for stability analysis using, for example, the Popov criterion.
Very important information in modern industries is process data recorded just before system breakdown. These are being used for resolving system failure cause and error reoccurrence prevention. A safety backup implementation into PLC system is limited due to low memory and similar performance issues. The paper presents a method for compressing and recording process data using a PLC and an operator panel. The main advantage is placing important information on secure location: external memory card and remote station with Ethernet connection. The system is designed and tested for safety stop sequence in hydro plant turbine governance.
The paper presents implementation and performance of an irregular sea wavemaker system. The system is designed for the purpose of testing sea waves impact on coastal facilities. It is suitable for long-crested two-dimensional irregular sea waves generation. The control algorithm is comprised of the offline calculation of the control waveform and the real-time governing of the wave paddle. Offline algorithm is implemented on a personal computer, whereas paddle control is realized on a programmable automation controller. The paper describes the generation procedure of a stochastic waveform according to criteria set in advance, as well as the control algorithm for producing the desired waveform. Functionality of the system is validated by experiments.
The paper presents design and implementation of a portable modular wavemaker system for producing regular and irregular waves in laboratory basins and fl umes. The system was built for the purpose of testing the impact of the sea waves on ships and coastal facilities. It is suitable for generation of all tipes regular and irregular surface waves. Modular system structure maintains high degree of fl exibility and reusability. Finally, the testing process on the physical model of Split harbour is described, and the currently obtained results are shown.
The paper presents design of a wavemaker system and it’ s use in tests on the Split harbor physical model. The main purpose of testing is to define the appropriate size, type and position of docs, piers, and other coastal facilities which are scheduled to be built in a few years. The system was built for the purpose of testing the sea waves impact on coastal facilities. It is suitable for long-crested two-dimensional irregular sea waves generation. The structure of the wavemaker is described, as well as user control interface and principles of operation. The model of Split harbor with main structures is presented. Finally, testing process is described, with current results displayed.
