Pharmacological Methods in Toxicology on the Isolated Innervated Organs From the Mouth
Isolated and innervated organs from the mouth were prepared. They were striated muscles from the tongue and from the farinx. They were prepared with the motor nerve and set up in an isolated organ bath. The induced contractions were recorded and the xenobiotics-ecotoxins were injected. The toxins were benzene and derivatives, trichlorethylene, mercury and lead. It was found that they increase the effect of nerve stimulation, they increased the height of induced contractions, depending on concentration. The explanation of the effect was that they inhibit enzymes and they free the neurotransmitters.
